After a weekend of temps well into the 80's ( which of course I loved), Monday brought temperatures that were closer to the mid 60's. I was sad to see the warm weather disappear, especially overnight, but with the cold moving in, it is hard to deny (and get a little excited) that fall is here.

It's not that I'm anti fall, in fact, I love fall. It's that I'm anti sub zero temperatures and fall means they will be here sooner then I am ready for. If I remove the fact that it ushers in discussions of windchill, fall itself is great. The explosion of color, bonfires, hot cider, crunching leaves, and pumpkin carving all make me excited. And I think fall is probably the best time of year for walks. It's not so hot that I need to worry about my dogs overheating, yet I don't need to pull out winter boots and thermal layers.

On Monday, after work, I had the chance to get out in the newly crisp fall air and take a nice long walk at the River Bend Nature Center in Faribault. I love the Nature Center, and I think Faribault is really lucky to have it. Often times, we take the same familiar paths, which is nice to see the changes throughout the seasons, but this time, we decided to take a path we rarely go down. It was beautiful, and just what I needed. We followed the winding path, and every once in a while I would stop to grab a couple pictures,  and before we knew it, the sun was getting lower and it was time to head back. I'm glad I didn't turn down the chance to get outside on Monday. Since then, we've had rain and are expected to get more. I'll never regret an evening spent taking in a beautiful walk.
