L. North too much for Huskies
ROCHESTER–Owatonna had to settle for second place in this year’s Section 1AAAA tournament as the Lakeville North Panthers defeated the Huskies, 73-57, on Friday night at Mayo Civic Center. The Panthers got off to a fast start and built a 21-point lead in the first half. Owatonna cut a 20-point halftime deficit down to 9 in the second half, but could get no closer as Lakeville North improved to 20-9 on the year with the win. Owatonna ends its season at 25-3.
The Huskies were led by senior Katlin Ptacek, who picked up 2 early fouls but was tremendous down the stretch. Ptacek finished with 24 points. Seniors Kyndal Cox, Angie Farrier, Amy Filzen, Madison Eggermont, and Brittany Pollach also played the final game of their high school careers.
