Lakers Know Opponent For Next Playoff Round

The Faribault Lakers will open Region 3C Round 2 Playoff action Thursday night at home against the Prior Lake Mudcats.  All but one seeding is set for the double elimination tournament.  The Lakers are the number 4 seed and the winner will play top seeded New Market Sunday, August 3 at noon with a trip to state on the line. Prior Lake defeated New Prague Sunday afternoon 14-5 to win that series.  St. Patrick rolled by Webster 9-3 and are the number two seed and wait to see who wins between third seeded St. Benedict (10-2 victors over Shakopee) and the Montgomery/Union Hill series winner.  That series goes to a deciding game Tuesday night in Union Hill after Montgomery picked up a 3-1 win on Sunday at home.  The Faribault/Prior Lake loser will play Wednesday, August 6 and the winner would also go to state.
