Are you sick of what's on TV and want to get out of the house tonight? The Rice County Historical Society is celebrating 90 years of preserving local history this year and, as a part of that celebration, they've invited Hayes Scriven, the director of the Northfield Historical Society, to lead a presentation about the James-Younger gang's failed attempt to rob the First National Bank of Northfield. He'll talk about the history of the raid, with a focus on the research and analysis that has been done over the years and discuss the skeleton in the Northfield Historical Society's collection and it's tie-in to the raid.

This presentation, titled "The Failed 1876 Bank Raid and Today" is tonight, May 10, at 7PM at the Rice County Historical Society, 1814 Second Ave. N.W., (on the east end of the Rice County Fairgrounds) in Faribault. Admission to this event is only $2 for nonmembers and free for members. Preregistration is encouraged. Feel free to contact the Rice County Historical Society at (507) 332-2121 or visit their website, RCHistory.org, for more information.
