Minnesota's Winter Farmers' Markets that want to ensure their venders and customers stay safe can apply for the Minnesota Department of Agriculture's (MDA) Safe at the Farmers Market Cost Share Program. Minnesota Farmers Markets can be reimbursed for up to $300 on the purchase of equipment that will help them comply with the Guidance for Minnesota Farmers Markets and Vendors.

Some examples of equipment that qualifies include handwashing stations, more tables to increase the distance between vendors and customers, signage to properly communicate handwashing and social distancing, sanitation supplies to clean touched surfaces, rope, fencing, tape and chalk to guide customers at the Farmers Market.

Farmers' markets that took part in round one of the Safe at Farmers' Market Cost Share Program are again eligible this year too. Applications are being accepted through December 31, 2020. For more information and an online application go to the MDA website Safe at the Winter Farmers' Market.
