Sometime around the end of the month of May, a California company agreed to purchase 11 Cabela's locations. Was Owatonna's Cabela's one of those eleven? It's hard to know as it is still unknown as to which eleven stores were sold to Sansome Pacific Properties of San Francisco, CA according to Commercial Property Executive and The Hunting News online.

The deal was reported to be worth $324.3 million in a sale-leaseback deal brokered by B+E between Bass Pro Shops which purchased Cabela's in 2017 for $5.5 Billion dollars. Commercial Property Executive stated that they believe that the deal is the "largest commercial real estate transaction brokered by a digital platform."

At the time of the 2017 purchase by Bass Pro Shops the Outdoor News stated that at the time the deal brought together three of the nation’s top outdoor sporting brands which included Cabela’s, Bass Pro Shops, and White River Marine Group.

Cabela's was founded in 1961 after the founder purchased $45 in fishing flies as a furniture expo in Chicago. Owatonna's Cabela's opened its doors in 1998.
