Friday afternoon the U.S. Department of Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue was at Minnesota Farm Bureau's President Kevin Paap's farm by Garden City. Perdue stopped in Minnesota as part of a five-state RV tour, called "Back to Our Roots Tour." The objective was to gather input on what farmers and agriculture business thought should be in the next farm bill. As you can see from the picture there were a lot of people there to greet the Secretary of Agriculture.

"The Secretary was able to hear from different generations of farmers as well as, agricultural business," said MFBF President Paap. "It was also important for us to hear from the Secretary on the role he is playing in the President's administration to ensure that farmers and ranchers have a seat at the table." It was nice to see so many people involved in Agriculture at Paap's farm Friday afternoon. I did notice that many that were there had also been at Farmfest all 3 days this week. It was late Friday afternoon after a busy week but they were still there to greet the Secretary of Agriculture!
