St Paul (KROC AM News) - The number of birds confirmed to have been infected by the Avian flu outbreak that arrived in Minnesota last month has grown to nearly 600,000.

The state Board of Animal Health Monday reported more infected flocks.

The overall number has risen to 19. Two have involved backyard flocks, including one in Mower County. The rest involved commercial turkey flocks.

Kandiyohi and Stearns counties each reported six cases as of Monday.

A flock in Dodge County involving 20,000 turkeys was also added to the list Monday.
