The USDA announced Friday more than 3.4 million acres had been accepted in the general Conservation Reserve Program (CRP.) This was the first general CRP sign-up since 2016. If you submitted a bid for some of your land to be put into CRP local County Farm Service Agency offices will "begin notifying producers no later than April 3."

The 2018 Farm Bill capped CRP acres Nation Wide at 24.5 million. The new Farm Bill allowed CRP acres in 2020 to be increased to 27 million acres. Remember all USDA Farm Service Agency offices are open for business by phone appointment only and field work will continue with appropriate social distancing. With the current recommendations only two staff can be in the FSA office while the rest are working remotely.
