Top Seed Northfield Rolls in Boys Hockey Sections

The semifinals are set in the Section 1A Boys Hockey Tournament.

No. 1 seed Northfield rolled past No. 9 La Crescent 7-1 and No. 4 Mankato East blanked No. 5 Red Wing 5-0 to set up their match-up Saturday morning at 11:30 at the Rochester Rec Center.

No. 6 Le Sueur-Henderson/St. Peter/Tri-City United beat No. 3 seed Rochester Lourdes 3-2 and No. 2 Mankato West edged No. 7 Albert Lea  2-1.

Winners play at 2PM Saturday at the Rochester Rec Center.

In Section 1AA boys hockey Thursday night:

No. 1 seed Lakeville North crushed No. 8 Dodge County 12-0 while No. 4 seed Rochester John Marshall got by No. 5 Owatonna 3-1. Lakeville North plays John Marshall at 5:30PM Saturday at the Rochester Rec Center.

No. 3 seed Lakeville South rolled past No. 6 Rochester Mayo 7-1 and No. 2 Farmington breezed by No. 7 Rochester Century 7-0. South and Farmington are scheduled to face off at 8PM Saturday in Rochester.

Northfield outshot La Crescent 52-22. The breakdown by periods was 18-6, 18-9 and 16-7, all in favor of the Raiders. The Lancers were 0 for 3 on the power play and the Raiders 2-5. Lucas Halvorson had two goals and three assists and Zakery Von Ruden a goal and an assist for the Raiders.
