What You Need To Know About Hockey Day Minnesota 2025

For nearly 20 years, the State of Hockey has been celebrating the sport it is best known for with a celebration known as Hockey Day Minnesota.

This year's Hockey Day Minnesota event will be the 19th celebration of all things hockey, with several high school teams, a couple of Minnesota college teams, and even the Minnesota Wild all playing a role in the festivities.

Every year, a new community plays host to this annual celebration of hockey, with a vast majority of the event's activities tied to outdoor hockey games.

Whether you're planning on heading to see the festivities in person or watching the culmination of the event with the televised events, here's everything you need to know.

Where is Hockey Day Minnesota this year?

Hockey Day Minnesota 2025 will be hosted in Shakopee, with a unique venue being the home to this year's festivites.

Valleyfair will be the home to this year's main events, where various hockey games and other events will be held.

When is Hockey Day Minnesota 2025? What is the schedule?

Hockey Day 2025 is officially Saturday, January 24, but that isn't the only day of the festivities for this year!

As organizers explain, festivities get underway with JV and Varsity boys & girls hockey games and other events starting on Wednesday, January 22. Four games will be played on Wednesday along with live entertainment also on site.

Thursday, January 23 is Girls' Day, with gates opening at 2:30 and 4 girls hockey games beling played.

Friday, January 24 gates open at 11:30, with live entertainment, hockey-oriented seminars, and 6 different hockey games to watch through the day, including a number of youth games as well as a colleigate all-star game.

Saturday, January 25 is the big day, with a live broadcast of Hockey Day Minnesota festivities on FanDuel Sports Network North (formerly Bally Sports North).

Beside the televised games, there will be a full day's worth of festivites for people on site at Valleyfair, with gates opening at 8:00 am and closing at 11:00 pm. You can see the full on-site event schedule here.

What is the TV broadcast schedule for Hockey Day Minnesota 2025?

Coverage starts on FanDuel Sports Network Northat 8 am on Saturday, with a total of four games on the TV schedule for the day.

Hibbing High School takes on Eden Prairie in boys hockey for the first televised game of the day at 8:30 am.

Following that, the University of Minnesota takes on Bemidji State in women's hockey at 11:30 am.

After the Gophers-Beavers game, Maple Grove takes on host Shakopee in boys hockey at 2:30 pm. Those three games wrap up the televised games from Valleyfair, but the day doesn't end there.

After the Shakopee vs. Maple Grove matchup, FanDuel Sports Network North gets ready for the night's Minnesota Wild game. They'll take on the Calgary Flames at 6 pm at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul.
