In case you have not heard, a very good friend of KDHL and everyone who ever had contact with him, Kevin Estrem passed away last evening about 5:30. His brother Mark called me this morning and told me that there will be a parade in Kevin's honor this evening. Those who chose to participate will meet in Dennison at 6:30 and leave at 7:00 to drive past the Estrem farm where the family will be gathered. Everyone is welcome to drive in the parade, whether it's in a car, pick-up, gator, tractor, truck, whatever you want!

I still remember the first time I met Kevin. It was decades ago at the Rice County Fair. I was at the KDHL booth and Kevin brought over a couple of plates of shredded pork sandwiches from the Rice County Pork Producers Food Stand! Kevin was a tireless promoter of the pork industry and all of agriculture in general. Kevin loved his family, friends, neighbors, and farming. I hope to see many friends and family this evening in Dennison for the parade!

In the picture is Kevin giving me a gift card for a pork sandwich in the Media Center at Pork Congress that is held every year at the Minneapolis Convention Center. We all came into this world with nothing, and as far as we know, we will leave this world with nothing. All we will leave behind are the memories of how we treated people. Show me someone who was better at that then Kevin was!
