Tim McGraw’s Minnesota Show Raises Hundreds of Thousands of Dollars

You might have needed a boat to see him-- as well as a place to drop anchor on a very crowded Lake Minnetonka-- but Tim McGraw's concert raised a lot of money on Saturday!

This was the second year Tim McGraw played the somewhat-private Liberty on the Lake on Lake Minnetonka. I say somewhat-private because while you needed an invitation to see the show on dry land at Peter Taunton's Palmer Pointe house on Lake Minnetonka, you could see the show for free if you motor by in your boat dropped anchor on that part of the lake.

This story noted Taunton is the CEO of Snap Fitness, so yeah, his property is pretty nice. The Liberty on the Lake stage is right on the shore of Lake Minnetonka, so Tim could play to both visitors on land, and on the water.

The concert Saturday was once again a fundraiser for Folds of Honor, a foundation providing scholarships to spouses and children of fallen and disabled service members. This year, organizers said proceeds would also benefit 'Helping Paws,' a Hopkins-based nonprofit places assistance dogs with people with disabilities and veterans with PTSD.

And, once again, the concert has raised a lot of money. This CBS-Minnesota story said the story said initial estimates say over $200,000 was raised for the non-profits! That's not too bad. No word, though, on whether or not there'll be a Liberty On The Lakes again next year...
