The Good and Ugly!
These pictures were taken from my tractor cab when I was out spraying beans last Saturday. One picture was taken from the left cab window. It was a common sight of black spots in the field that drowned out because of the heavy rains we received. Then I took a picture out the right window of nice looking beans. We were lucky at the farm because we only receive 6.5 inches of rain in a couple days about three weeks ago. Some parts of our listening area received 10 to 12 inches of rain. Their drowned out spots are a lot larger than mine. On my farm I would estimate that I lost 5 to 8 percent of every field. However, if the weather cooperates the rest of the growing season I could still have a pretty good crop. Of course that is a BIG if the weather cooperates!
