The 18th Annual Steele County Free Fair Steele County Livestock Hall of Fame Program was held Tuesday afternoon in the Livestock Show Arena on the Steele County Fairgrounds. There were a number of Owatonna, Medford and Blooming Prairie FFA members recognized for their Proficiency awards, State and American FFA Degrees and the Minnesota State FFA Medford Poultry team that will judging at the National FFA Convention in October.

The Steele County Soil and Water Conservation District recognized their conservation award winners, along  with the Minnesota Farm Bureau recognizing Century and Sesquicentennial Farms. In addition the University of Minnesota Extension Service recognized the Steele County Farm Family of the year, the Wayne Family, brothers Greg, Brian, David and Tom.

Inducted into the Steele County Livestock Hall of Fame were Richard Steinberg or Mr Rabbit. For decades Richard has been responsible for numerous state conventions and rabbit shows and has judged in rabbit shows in 12 states, Canada, and 7 National American Rabbit Breeders Association conventions.

Glenn Johnson and Deb McDermott Johnson were also inducted into the Steele County Livestock Hall of Fame. They have been dairy farmers in Steele county for more than 20 years.
