The Minnesota State Patrol reported today there were many accidents across the state related to slippery conditions.

One of them in Steele County claimed the life of a baby boy.

The State Patrol description states driver, Dominic Owen Hosteller, 25 of Owatonna was traveling north on I-35 when he lost control of the vehicle, left the roadway and rolled in the right ditch near Steele County Road 9.

The State Patrol Report says Hosteller and two passengers, a 4 year old girl and boy under the age of one were all wearing seat belts.

The driver and the girl were transported to Owatonna Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The baby boy was killed in the mishap.  No alcohol was involved and no airbag deployed in the 1999 Ford Ranger.
