Normally the Minnesota State FFA Convention is held a the University of Minnesota late in April. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic it was postponed. At the time there were hopes of having the State FFA Convention in early June. As time went on it became apparent that would not be possible either. So, it was announced that the Minnesota State FFA Convention will be held next week virtually.

"We are proud to provide an experience that can be accessed in real time, along with an opportunity for all students to take part in interactive workshops and panels, while recognizing student involvement and leadership," said Luleah Tolosky, Minnesota FFA executive director.

The FFA Career and Leadership Development events (judging contests) that are a big part of the State FFA Convention will not be held this year due to COVID-19. But, with the virtual format there will be award ceremonies, State Officer retiring address, Minnesota FFA Hall of Fame and FFA Foundation recognition and an introduction of the new State FFA Officer team.

If you would like to watch the Minnesota State FFA Convention you can see it live on the Minnesota FFA YouTube Channel. I will be talking with area FFA members after the convention on the phone. We will air those interviews on KDHL after the Memorial Day weekend.
