Going out to the farm Friday afternoon and again Saturday I did notice a couple combines harvesting soybeans. Some farmers will plant a percent of their acres to early maturing soybean varieties to get started with harvest. Even though you have all your equipment checked over there are almost always issues that you do not see until you are actually in the field. Having a few acres ready to harvest instead of the entire crop lowers the stress level considerably!

This is a picture of one of my bean fields taken Saturday afternoon. Most of the yellow leaves I saw last weekend have fallen off the plant. However, there are a few green leaves and stems in the field yet. So, it will take a few more days before this field will be ready to harvest. The last few days we have seen temperatures in the 90's which really moved the soybeans toward maturity. But, I will have to be patient for a few more days.
