The Southern Research and Outreach Center at Waseca will be hosting an Open House this Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 pm. This open house will showcase University of Minnesota research and demonstrate how it impacts the area. I think you may be surprised at some areas of research in both crops and livestock that is being done in our "backyard" at Waseca. There is no charge to attend and A free lunch will be served.

Just a few of the activities include a wagon tour of the Southern Research and Outreach Center, a corn maze, 4-H games and activities for the kids. You can also learn about Minnesota's grape industry and the winter hardy varieties that were developed at the University of Minnesota plus sample local wines and craft beer. In addition there will be experts from the University of Minnesota there to answer you may have on turf, home horticulture, landscaping, and fruit production.

The open house will be held rain or shine. If it is raining activities will be moved inside as they have many buildings at the Southern Research and Outreach Center at Waseca.
