The Waseca Soil and Water Conservation District will be hosting a Soil Health Research Tour on Thursday, August 22, 2019 at Farmamerica. Farmamerica is Minnesota's Agricultural Interpretative Center located 4 miles west of Waseca. There is 320 acres at Farmamerica which means a lot of land for research and demonstration plots. The Soil Health Research Tour will be held from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Snacks and refreshments will be served.

Some of the topics that will be discussed will be: Strip till and cover crops verses Conventional Farming, 60 inch corn and cover crops, Small grains, Peas and cover crops, and 100 bushel Soybean Challenge. In addition there will be a Rainfall Simulator. There is no cost to attend, there is no charge and you do not have to preregister. After 8:00 pm there will be a time for informal discussion and the refreshments will be served.

The Soil Health Research Tour is also being sponsored by the Cannon River Watershed Partnership, Farmamerica, the Natural Resources Conservation Service and the Waseca Soil and Water Conservation District.
