The 7th annual Soil and Water Management Field Day will be held virtually Thursday August 13, 2020 virtually from 9:00 am to noon. Soil and water management will be the focus of the virtual field day. The goal is "to convene farmers, researchers, stakeholders, and practitioners to interact on issues related to soil and water management for productivity and environmental enhancement." There is no cost but you must pre-register online.

Some of the specific topics include: Drainage ditch management and constructed wetlands, Bioreactors, Supplemental Irrigation, Minnesota drainage and phosphorus issues in drainage, Split nitrogen applications and drainage, Cover Cropping and Cottonwood Watershed Modeling and Minnesota Department of Agriculture Certified Farmers.

You can view the Soil Water Management Field Day on your computer, tablet or even cell phone. There will be presentations and plenty of time for questions and discussion. There are many sponsors of the Soil and Water Management Field Day including the College of Food, Agriculture and Natural Resources and the University of Minnesota Southwest Research and Outreach Center.
