It's looking like tonight's commute will be a trying on peoples patience with 1-3 inches of new snow being expected in our area. But after the snowfall, it should be a quiet week with below average temps. Looking ahead to next weekend they are predicting another surge of snow in the realm of 3-5 inches.

It's becoming a broken record but it's looking like we are going to get another round of measurable snow in the next 7-10 days looking at different weather websites. Focusing more on today, the National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory.

"Light to occasionally moderate snow will spread across Minnesota and Wisconsin today. Accumulations of 3 to 4 inches are expected. A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for much of central and southern Minnesota and west central Wisconsin. Plan on slippery road conditions for the evening commute." - National Weather Service

The winter weather advisory is in effect for the following counties Scott, Dakota, Le Sueur, Rice, Waseca, and Steele. Generally speaking a Winter Weather Advisory for snow means periods of snow will cause primarily travel difficulties. Expect snow covered roads and limited visibilities, and use caution while driving.

This weekend and into next week looks brutal from a temperature point of view. Temps on Sunday will top out at maybe 1 above and Monday won't be much warmer. We are predicted to see seasonally colder temps through the first 15 days of March.

As we look towards next weekend, it looks like Minnesotans will be greeted by another dose of snow. Right now it's predicted to snow late Saturday evening into the overnight and we could see 3-5" of new snow, according to The Weather Channel.
