See You Tuesday at Crops Day

I hope to see many farmers and agronomists at Rice and Steele County Crops Day Tuesday in the 4-H Building on the Rice County Fairgrounds in Faribault. It is called Rice and Steele County Crops Day but everyone is welcome no matter where you call home! Registration with coffee and rolls is at 8:30 and the program begins at 9:00 am.

This year in addition to teaming up with the University of Minnesota Extension service we also are working with the Minnesota Soybean and Research and Promotion Council. The whole morning program will deal with weeds in soybeans and resistance management.

After lunch Dean Malvick, UMN Plant Pathology Extension Specialist will discuss variety selection and soybean diseases. Gordon Kralovetz from Chiodo Commodities will be the last speaker of the day. If you have listened to Gordon on KDHL but never met him here is your chance.

You do not have to pre-register and there is no charge. Cash Wise Foods in Owatonna will be catering the lunch. It would be great if I had to call Cash Wise Foods at 9:30 Tuesday morning and say bring more food because we have a big crowd!
