One of the Midwest's largest swine specific shows is coming up this week at the Minneapolis Convention Center in downtown Minneapolis, Pork Congress. The Minnesota Pork Board Annual Meeting will be Monday morning. This is the mandatory check-off so all pork producers are encouraged to attend. The voluntary Minnesota Pork Producers Association Annual Meeting will be Monday afternoon. This is for pork producers and supports that paid into to association.

Then Pork Congress begins Tuesday morning and continues through Thursday. There will be more than 150 exhibitors on the trade show floor plus timely breakout sessions. Tow that I am interested in will be foreign animal diseases like African Swine Fever and another on the pork export potential to China. Remember, China lost almost half of their pigs due to African Swine Fever.

Another important event at Pork Congress is the awards recognition with the Pork Promoter of the Year, Distinguished Service Award, Swine Manager of the Year, and the Family of the year. It is going to be a fun three days!
