Rochester Man Charged With Austin Armed Robbery and Police Chase
Austin, MN (KROC-AM News) - Conditional bail has been set at $125,000 for the Rochester man accused of an armed robbery in Austin last Friday that led to a "shelter in place" alert in Lyle.
26-year-old Adrick Mims was arraigned in Mower County Court this morning on felony charges of robbery while possessing a dangerous weapon, fleeing police, and second-degree assault. He is due back in court on July 11.
Mims is accused of holding up an Austin convenience store knifepoint before leading Austin police on a high-speed chase at speeds estimated at between 80 to 100 mph. According to the criminal complaint, Mims drove to the total of Lyle and abandoned the vehicle he was driving outside an apartment building.
He was eventually apprehended after he was found hiding in a bush. investigators indicated they found a jacket under the bush and discovered $814 cash in one of the pockets. The criminal complaint says the jacket matched the jacket worn by the person who robbed the Austin business.
