The criminal complaint says a friend of the young girl reported she told him and his wife she had been sexually assaulted multiple times by multiple people at a trailer home in Rochester. The girl was in foster care and had run away from a home in Farmington in the early morning hours of January 19. The complaint says a man identified as 41-year-old Mohammed Omer picked her up from a gas station and brought her to a residence in Rochester on the night of January 19. The teen reported that Omer and another man sexually assaulted her at the residence.

If you or someone you know has been sexually assaulted, resources are available for help. Visit the RAINN website (Rape, Abuse, and Incest National Network) or dial 800-656-HOPE (800-656-4673).

The other man then dropped the young girl at a gas station where she met her friend, who drover her to Children’s Hospital in Minneapolis for a sexual assault exam in the early morning hours of January 20. During the exam the victim told the nurse she was dehydrated and sleep deprived. She also reported foot pain due to boots the men forced her to wear after they took her shoes to ensure she would not run away, the complaint says.

Law enforcement executed a search warrant at the location of the reported sexual assaults and reported finding items inside the victim described seeing. Officers also located female glasses in a vehicle at the residence. Omer is charged with third-degree and fifth-degree criminal sexual conduct. The teen identified the second suspect to law enforcement but he has not yet been charged.
