Thank you to all the farmers that attended the annual Rice and Steele County Crops Day on Tuesday at the Steele County Community Center in Owatonna. Much of the morning sessions centered around Strategic Farming and Return on Investment. This portion of the program was presented by U of M Extension Educators Ryan Miller and Lisa Behnken. U of M Extension Crops Educator Brad Carlson talked about Variable Rate Nitrogen and Cordy Kralovetz from Chiodo Commodities talked about the markets.

you can see from the picture we had a big crowd at the annual program which was nice to see. You cannot have a winter meeting without a good lunch and Cashwise Foods in Owatonna did just that! It was real food, roast beef, corn, mashed potatoes and gravy! There were many more farmers than we had planned on. About 9:30 I put a call in and like magic more food showed up at 11:45!

Special thank you to Extension Educator in Rice and Steele County Claire LaCanne for helping to organize the program along with our other sponsors: Ag Partners in Morristown, Bart Jackson American Family Insurance Agency in Faribault, Kenyon Ag Service, Syngenta Seeds Research Station in Stanton, Nerstrand Agri-Center, Craig Keller Insurance Agency of Nerstrand, The Minnesota Soybean Research and Promotion Council and Cashwise Foods of Owatonna and Waseca.
