Rice and Steele County Crops Day Tuesday

The annual Rice and Steele County Crops Day will be Tuesday February 26, 2019 in the Steele County Community Center on the Steele County Fairgrounds in Owatonna. The program begins with registration at 8:30. Coffee and rolls will be sponsored by Bart Jackson Insurance Agency in Faribault. The program runs from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm. Lunch will be served by Cashwise Foods of Owatonna and Waseca.

The morning program will focus on Strategic Farming: Maximizing your Return on Investment sponsored by the Minnesota Soybean Research and Promotion Council. Specifically Crop Budgets, Understanding Ag Research, Return on Investment Fungicides, soil fertility, soybean aphid management, seed and technology traits and Best Management Practices for clean seed.

After lunch Extension Educator Brad Carlson will discuss Variable Rate Nitrogen and Gordy Kralovetz with Chiodo Commodities will talk about the markets.
