Mark your calendar for Tuesday February 27, 2018 for the annual Rice and Steele Counties' Crops Day. The program this year will be held in the 4-H Building on the Rice County Fairgrounds in Faribault from 8:30 am to 2:30 pm. There is no charge, lunch will be provided thanks to the Minnesota Soybean Research and Promotion Council and you do not have to preregister. We call it Rice and Steele Counties' Crops day but everyone is welcome no matter which county you live in.The morning will focus on weed resistance management in soybeans.

The topics in the morning include: Growing soybeans that out-compete weeds, Out-smarting your opponent, Breaking the cycle of loving a technology to death and Implementing a game plan. After lunch UMN Plant Pathology Extension Specialist Dean Malvick will discuss Soybean Diseases and variety selection. The final topic will be the Grain Markets. Gordon Kralovetz with Chiodo Commodities will come down to Faribault. I have talked markets with Gordon twice a day on KDHL for many years and if you have never met Gordon here is your opportunity!
