The Research Updates for Ag Professionals will be held tomorrow at the Southern Research and Outreach Center at Waseca from 12:30 to 4:40 pm. The cost is $60 and you can register at the door. The program is designed for "agronomists, ag sales people (seed, chemicals, fertilizer), crop consultants, crop production specialists, Extension educators, farm managers, and anyone else who would benefit from some professional training.

It seems every year there are new production challenges in addition to the ones farmers deal with every year. The presentations will be research based strategies to deal with changing pests, diseases, varieties, and nutrient and environmental recommendations. For Certified Crop Advisors continuing education units are available.

Topics include: Integrated Weed Management Now is the time, Dr. Jeff Gunsolus, Updates on emerging challenges with insect management in soybean and corn, Dr. Robert Koch, A behind the scenes look at corn and soybean diseases in Minnesota Dr. Dean Malvick, Lessons learned in variable rate nitrogen trials Brad Carlson.
