Reduce, Reuse, Recycle
I am sure you recognized the phrase Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. I am not sure when the environmental phrase was developed, but it did come from the environmental movement that began with the first Earth Day in the 1970s. In the picture is a unique way of reusing herbicide boxes -- as a foot stool and television stand!
Last week Steve moved into his new apartment in Indianapolis. They will not be able to deliver his furniture until next week. He went to the hardware store and bought a chair to sit in. Yes those are actually herbicide boxes being used as a footstool and television stand. Those herbicide boxes work great for packing things when you are moving!
The herbicide boxes are made heavy enough to hold 5 gallons of herbicide that weigh more than 50 pounds. They have handle grips and can be stacked on top of each other. The herbicide is sealed in two jugs inside the box. I open the box, take the jugs out and set the herbicide boxes away to keep then clean and dry. When I can, I get my herbicides in bulk containers that can be reused. Sometimes when I need smaller amounts I get the herbicide in these boxes than can be reused!
