Here is another sure sign of spring, the Randolph FFA Tractor Parade coming up this Friday Morning April 8, 2022. It is a sure sign of spring even if "Mother Nature" gives us cold temperatures, snow, rain and a lot of wind! This is the 19th Annual Randolph FFA Tractor Parade and we have seen all types of weather over those 18 years! There have been years with beautiful spring weather, others with rain and very windy. Then, a few years ago I drove up to the parade with about 6 inches of snow on the ground and it was still snowing!

That year teachers put tarps on the ground for the students to sit on and watch the parade. Yes, all the students, teachers and administration at Randolph Schools go out on the lawn to watch the parade, plus many from the area come too. Everyone is welcome to come and watch the parade or bring a tractor and drive. All tractors are welcome, any color, age or size, restored or with "working clothes" on.

The line-up used to be in the parking lot behind the Ag shop but now it is by the River Country Coop in Randolph. The parade then proceeds over past the Randolph School. Line-up begins at 8:00 am, and the parade at 9:00. The first Randolph FFA Tractor parade there were 27 tractors. Last year we saw the most ever with 132 tractors!

The Randolph FFA came up with the idea as a way to salute farmers as we look toward the spring planting season. It sure has grown into quite an event for the entire area. Remember, you are welcome to bring a tractor and drive or just come and watch!
