Rain and Snow at National FFA Convention
It was really fun to be at the 92nd National FFA Convention in Indianapolis Indiana last week, but it sure was nice to get back home Friday. Not just because I had corn to harvest and a lot of fall field work to do yet, but also because the weather was a lot nicer in Minnesota! Yes it was cold in Minnesota and the plane had to be deiced because of frost on the wings but at least we did not have any snow!
We had an hour layover at Chicago O'Hare and everything was white! I am quite certain that was very unusual for them in the end of October! Then there was a lot of rain in Indianapolis. Loren had checked the forecast and they were talking rain so I threw an umbrella in my sport bag. It is only a 6 block walk from the hotel to the Indianapolis Convention Center. Thursday morning there was heavy rain and windy so we took a cab!
Walking back to the hotel the temperature had dropped from 50 to 30 degrees with 40 to 50 mile an hour wind gusts. There were also snow flurries! That weather was very unusual for October in Indianapolis too! It sure was nice to be back in Minnesota and out to the farm combining corn!
