Rain and More Rain

This is a picture of a typical field in out listening area. Because of the heavy rains there is a lot of ponding in lower areas of fields. The corn that is completely under water will die in about two days. If water temperatures are cool it can maybe survive a little longer. Corn that is standing in water but not completely submerged will survive three days or maybe a little more. It is likely these areas will have water in them for a while yet as there is a lot more rain in the forecast.
