Owatonna Man Injured in Head-On Crash with Semi in Rice County

A 34 year old Owatonna man was injured in a head-on collision with a semi on Highway 21/Canby Avenue in Wells Township of Rice County.  The Minnesota State Patrol says the accident happened about 7:34 a.m. when Eric John Wermerskirchen's SUV crossed the centerline and collided with the semi.

Wermerskirchen was transported to North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale with what the State Patrol report stated were non-life threatening injuries.  The State Patrol report says he was not wearing a seat belt.  The driver of the semi was also injured.

The State Patrol report says Matthew Gerald Woehler, age 25 of Arlington, Mn. suffered a non-life threatening injury and was transported to District One Hospital in Faribault.

The report says Woehler was wearing a seat belt.  Road conditions were dry at the time.  The State Patrol report also no alcohol was involved in the accident.
