Beloved barn now only a memory
This is a place where I spent a lot of time. The barn that used to be here housed our milking parlor, sick stall and maternity stalls. It was built the year I was born, 1955. It needed paint and a new roof. It is difficult to put money into a building that no longer can be used. It is sad to see a barn fall down from neglect. My Dad said, "I built the barn, so maybe it's my responsibility to take it down, too." The contractor knocked it down with a big backhoe and it will be hauled to the landfill. Another contractor is coming to close-in the end of the cattle barn that is now a machine shed.
