One day of the annual Winter Crops Days sponsored by the Southern Research and Outreach Center has been postponed. Winter Crops Days was scheduled to be held in Arlington and Lake Crystal tomorrow, Thursday January 11, 2018. Due to the weather forecast and impending snow storm this has been postponed and rescheduled for next Tuesday January 16, 2018. The locations, times and speakers will all be the same. Winter Crops Days scheduled for Friday January 12, 2018 in Waseca and Rochester will still be held as planned.

I talked with Tom Hoverstad with the Southern research and Outreach Center at Waseca and he said some of the presenters are driving from the St Paul Campus. In addition at lunch time many of the presenters are driving from one location to the other. If they spoke in the morning at one location they are scheduled in the afternoon at the other. That is a lot of travel if visibility is poor and the roads are slippery. Sure the storm track could alter a bit and miss us but you have take the forecast seriously.
