Yesterday afternoon a 60-year-old Northfield man was the only injured person in a three-vehicle crash on Highway 19 in Rice County. According to the Minnesota State Patrol, 60-year-old James Alan Bartusek of Northfield was driving his 2008 Chrysler Town and County Eastbound on Highway 19 when he collided with a 2018 Volkswagen Jetta on the front right corner, then colliding head-on with the 2008 Chevrolet Trailblazer.

The accident was reported at 2:06 p.m. on Saturday afternoon. The three people in the Trailblazer, which included an infant, along with the two individuals in the 2018 Jetta were all uninjured.

Bartusek was reported to have suffered non-life threatening injuries and was transported to the Northfield Hospital. Alcohol was not determined to have been a factor in the crash, and all the individuals were wearing their seatbelts.
