The Class 3A #9 ranked Northfield Raiders took a nine point lead into the locker room at halftime and extended it into a 65-38 victory over the Faribault Falcons in Northfield Saturday.  Northfield had 15 points and Faribault 1 at the free throw line.

6'3 senior Alex Rasmussen led Northfield with 18 points and 6'2 senior Carter Hodapp added 12 points.  Faribault 6'3 junior Joe Palmer paced the Falcons with 15 points and fouled out with 2:23 to go in the game.

6'2 Faribault senior Andrew Dozark had his first varsity start and responded with two quick buckets in the game.  He finished with 4 points.  6'0 senior Ben Malmanger had 9 for the Falcons.

Northfield's lead at the half was only single digits due in part to 7 of 15 shooting at the free throw line.  Raider Head Coach Andy Berkvam must have made that a point of emphasis at the break because they were 8 for 8 in the second half.

The Raiders are now 12-4 overall and 9-3 in the Big Nine while Faribault dropped to 2-11 in the league and 4-11 overall this season.

The Falcons head to Winona and Northfield hosts Class 4A #17 ranked Owatonna on Tuesday.
