New Nitrogen Use Rules

The Minnesota Department of Agriculture has released a draft of the proposed Nitrogen Fertilizer Rule. This process is being implemented to reduce or minimize possible sources of nitrate nitrogen in Minnesota's groundwater. The comment period is open until August 25, 2017. The Minnesota Department of Agriculture will consider and incorporate comments into the official draft rule that will be released late this fall or winter. The Minnesota Corn Growers Association is encouraging farmers to learn about the proposed rules, how it will affect them and submit comments.
