Be sure to call your Farm Service Agency office and get an appointment to see if you can benefit by updating your yields or base acres. The deadline to do that under the new farm bill is Feb. 27.

Below is a picture of my production report from my crop insurance agent. Each year, you have to bring your production evidence to your agent. They can easily email you this form to take to the FSA office. However, you also need to go to the FSA website and print out CCC form 859. The catch is that your farm units for crop insurance might not be the same as the farm units the FSA uses. This form will help you match up the production with the right farm units. We need to be as organized as possible when we go to the FSA office. They have a lot of farmers to work with in a short time!
