Wednesday morning I will be flying down to the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis. For decades the National FFA Convention was held in Kansas City. A number of years ago the National FFA Convention was moved to Louisville and then Indianapolis. The reason for the move from Kansas City was the National FFA Convention became too large for Kansas City to host. This year more than 64,000 FFA members from all 50 states, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands will be represented.

The Convention and expo events will be held at a number of locations in downtown Indianapolis. The general sessions will be in the Bankers Life Fieldhouse where the Indiana Pacers Basketball team plays. Workshops and the career expo will be in the Indiana Convention Center and one session will be held in the Lucas Oil Stadium where the Indianapolis Colts football team plays.

It is hard to describe what the National FFA Convention is like. There is a sea of blue FFA Jackets, the excitement and enthusiasm of the members and how they conduct themselves is something you almost have to experience. Members are well behaved and there is no litter thrown around like you see from many other large events. It is a privilege to be around these great kids
