The MSHSL postponed today's four State Championship baseball games at Target Field in Minneapolis citing the rainy weather.

In a statement released by MSHSL this morning they say, " Due to the current forecast for Monday, (June 17, 2024) and for the rest of the week, as well as field conditions at other cites and the availability of Target Field the four Prep Championship Series games will be played, Friday, June 21, 2024.

Here is a rundown of who is playing in each of the title contests.

Class A:   10:00 a.m.  #2 seed Parkers Prairie Panthers (25-1) vs #4 seed Springfield Tigers (24-2).   Parkers Prairie is experiencing their fourth trip to state with a title in 2017 following their runner-up finish in 2026 to Springfield.

This cat fight has obviously happened before.  The Tigers have been at the state baseball tournament 11 times with runner-up finishes in 1948 and 2015 and their state title of 2016.

Springfield shut out New York Mills 4-0 in their first game Thursday at Joe Faber Field in St. Cloud, then defeated top seed Cherry Tigers 4-2 to get to tile game.

Parkers Prairie blanked Heritage Christian Academy 3-0 in their opener and defeated Sacret Heart 7-1 on Friday.

Class 2A:   1:00 p.m.  #4 seed Foley Falcons (23-4) vs. #2 seed Rockford Rockets (25-5).  Rockford's first-ever trip to state in baseball, they won over Blake Bears 2-1 in first game and downed Le Seuer-Henderson in the Semifinals 7-3 at Dick Putz Field in St. Cloud.

The Falcons are making their third trip to state (all since 2019) and have never been in the title game until now.  Foley came from behind by two runs in the bottom of the 7th inning against Zumbrota-Mazeppa on Thursday to walk-off 6-5 before shutting out 4-0 top seed and defending Champions Esko.

Class 3A:   4:30 p.m.  #3 seed Mahtomedi Zephyrs (22-4) vs. #4 seed Totino-Grace Eagles (18-8).  The Zephyrs are at state baseball tournament for 9th time (all since 2014) with second place finishes last year and in 2016 and titles in 2021 and 2022.  That's right 4th consecutive year in title game.

The Eagles have never been to title game in baseball with previous state games played in 2006 and 2012,

Totino-Grace blanked Little Falls 4-0 in Thursday game at Chaska Athletic Park then pitched another shutout 2-0 against top seed Benilde-St. Margaret's on Friday.

Mahtomedi scored 7 runs in the second inning against Northfield Thursday and never looked back winning 7-1.  They got by Grand Rapids 5-3 Friday.

Class 4a:  7:30 p.m.   #3 seed East Ridge Raptors (20-6) vs. #5 seed Mounds View Mustangs (20-8).   Raptors defending State Champions have made the most of their state trips with titles the other two times they've been at state, last year and in 2019.

Mustangs are enjoying their 11th trip to state in baseball with titles in 2013 and 2014.

The Raptors defeated Eastview Lightning 7-1 Thursday at CHS Field in St. Paul then rolled over Forest Lake Rangers 10-1 Friday.

The Mustangs galloped by #4 seed Minnetonka Skippers 11-1 in six innings Thursday before winning a 5-4 eight inning thriller against top seed and previously undefeated Wayzata Trojans Friday.
