One of the bands scheduled to perform Saturday at the Minnesota State Fair has pulled out, due to the fair's COVID-19 policies according to Fox 9 News.  The fair will not require attendees to be vaccinated or to have a recent negative COVID-19 test.  They are recommending, however, that fair attendees wear masks indoors and in outdoor areas where social distancing may be difficult.

The band Low Cut Connie has pulled from Saturday's The Current's Music On- A-Stick.  So far the other two artists, headliner Lake Street Dive and special guest Kiss the Tiger are still scheduled to play on Saturday.

Low Cut Connie's front man, Adam Weiner,  issued a statement saying "Now that I understand there will be no mask or vaccine mandate in place for the event, I don’t feel comfortable moving forward with this show,"

It's a tough road for unvaccinated live music lovers in the Twin Cities.  A COVID-19 vaccine or negative COVID test is required to attend shows at The Palace Theater, First Avenue, Basilica Block Party and several other venues in the Cities.

There will also be fewer vendors this year at Minnesota's Great Get Together.  Over 200 have pulled out so far. Some are opting out due to COVID-109 policies and others due to shortage of workers.  Vendors that are at the fair will be spaced out more than previous years.

Personally, I was somewhat surprised at the lax restrictions this year at the fair, seeing as most other events have been implementing health restrictions. Whenever I think of the Minnesota State Fair, I picture that massive crowd shuffling through the fairgrounds.

Here's to hoping that all attending the fair this year stay safe and healthy!
