Starting on May 1, 2018, all diesel fuel sold in Minnesota had to be blended with 20 percent biodiesel. On Monday staff from the Minnesota Soybean Research and Promotion Council drove around Minnesota stopping at fuel stations to inform consumers about biodiesel. Lucky owners of diesel trucks were treated to a free tank of diesel fuel.

You may have noticed the unusual truck they are filling with a blend of 20 percent biodiesel? That is my truck! Well, actually mine and about 27,000 other soybean farmers in Minnesota. The truck is owned by the Minnesota Soybean Research and Promotion Council. Being all soybean farmers in Minnesota pay into the soybean check-off we all own the truck! This truck will be at all kinds of parades and community events throughout the summer.

The truck was built by the Discovery Channel's "Diesel Brothers Show." Yes, the DieselSellerz built the Minnesota Biodiesel truck in the picture. Not only is there a partnership between the Minnesota Soybean Research and Promotion Council and DieselSellerz, 3 Minnesota soybean farmers were filmed in one of the shows! It will air sometime on the Discovery Channel this summer. The Minnesota Soybean Research and Promotion Council will let us know when it will air!
