I love fall, but I don't love everything that comes with it...like losing daylight. If we could keep the same amount of daylight AND still enjoy cool temperatures, bonfires and pumpkin spice, then fall would be perfect in my book.

However, life doesn't work like that. We're losing daylight at a rate of approximately two minutes per day...which doesn't sound like a lot until you put it into perspective.

We lose roughly an hour of daylight per month. On June 20, which was the longest day of 2020, the sun set at 9:09 p.m. It was awesome.

Tonight, (Monday, Sept. 14) the sun will set at 7:29 p.m. That's a loss of about an hour and 39 minutes. That's not awesome. By the end of September the sun will be setting before 7 p.m. To that, I have one word...ICK.

So, enjoy the daylight while it's here. It won't be long before it's dark at 4:30 p.m. Winter is coming, friends.

Daylight savings time comes to an end officially on Sunday, November 1. That's when we turn the clock back an hour...basically losing another hour of daylight.

If you can't stand losing daylight, you might want to invest in a vitamin D lamp...I hear they help with the winter blues...or, you know, just take a trip somewhere warm where the light shines all day [insert shameless plug about winning Dream Getaway #49 here].
