With almost all the County Fairs and Minnesota State Fair canceled Minnesota youth with livestock projects have had very few opportunities to show their animals this year. So, a group of youth livestock volunteers have organized the first ever Minnesota Youth Livestock Expo that will be held August 19th through the 23rd at the fairgrounds in Fairmont and Jackson.

This is not just a 4-H or FFA livestock show but an open youth show. You have to be a resident of Minnesota between the ages of 8 and 21 years old as of January 1, 2020. Youth can bring more than one animal of the same species and show multiple species. At the Minnesota State Fair you could only bring one animal.  The deadline to enter is July 31, 2020. All the information and entry forms are available on the website: mnyouthlivestockexpo.com.

Show organizers have worked closely with the Jackson and Martin County Health Departments along with the Jackson and Martin County Fair Boards to develop a COVID-19 Plan that follows all CDC and Minnesota Health Department guidelines. Spread the word to other families you know about the opportunity to show their livestock projects in August!
