The coaches of the four classes in Minnesota high school baseball electronically sent their seeds in to MSHSL headquarters where they were tabulated and released today.  The top seeds are Heritage Christian Academy in Class A, Duluth Marshall in Class AA, Mahtomedi in Class AAA and Minnetonka in Class AAAA.  Southeastern Minnesota Class A representative Rushford-Peterson (15-8) did not receive a top 5 seed and will open with #3 seed South Ridge (19-5) Thursday evening at 5:30 p.m. at Chaska Athletic Park.

The Section 1AA Caledonia Warriors (21-2) received the #5 seed and open against defending state champion #4 seed Minnehaha Academy (16-5) at 12:30 p.m. Thursday at Dick Putz Field in St. Cloud.  Section 2AA Champion Jordan (14-8) did not receive a top five seed and open against #3 seed Paynesville Area (19-4) at 5:30 p.m. in St. Cloud.

Section 1AAA titlist Red Wing (14-9)  will play #2 seed Rocori (20-5) at 3:00 p.m. at Dick Siebert Field on the University of Minnesota campus.  Section 2AAA Champion New Ulm (20-3) received the #3 seed and plays South St. Paul (14-9) Thursday.

Section 1AAAA Champion Lakeville North (16-7) Head Coach Tony Market told KDHL on the Saturday Coaches Show his team is playing their best baseball right now.  The Panthers drew the #5 seed and play #4 St. Michael-Albertville (21-4) at 12:30 p.m. Thursday at CHS FIeld in St. Paul.  South Suburban Conference opponents Lakeville South and Farmington have told us all year on their respective coaches shows this might be the best team Coach Market has had.  The Panther Head Coach says they may be right on paper and he likes their pitching depth and experience but the proof will come in the results on the field.

This is Lakeville North's sixth straight trip to the Elite Eight at State.  Fellow South Suburban member Eastview of Apple Valley did not receive a top five seed and opens Thursday at 10:00 a.m. against top seed Minnetonka (20-4).

In Class A top seed Heritage Christian Academy (20-3) will play 10:00 a.m. at Chaska Athletic Park against Sacred Heart (15-5).  #4 seed Wabasso (14-4) faces #5 Parkers Prairie (18-9) at 12:30 p.m.  The #2 seed Sleepy Eye (16-5) tangles with Hinckley-Finlayson (14-4) at 3:00 p.m.

In Class  AA top seed Duluth Marshall (21-4) opens at 10:00 a.m. with St. Cloud Cathedral (17-8).  A super tough draw for the top seed because Cathedral is playing at home.  #2 seed Maple Lake (22-2) goes up against Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton (22-2) at Dick Putz Field at 3:00 p.m.

Class AAA top seed Mahtomedia (18-4) will play Grand Rapids (10-15) at Siebert Field at 10:30 a.m. Thursday.  #4 seed Alexandria Area (15-6) begins play against #5 seed Willmar (13-6) at 12:30 p.m.
