Minnesota Farm Bureau Recognizes Sesquicentennial Farms
This year the Minnesota Farm Bureau is recognizing 26 family farms in Minnesota as sesquicentennial farms. The Minnesota State Fair and Minnesota Farm Bureau sponsor the Century Farm Program in Minnesota but the Minnesota State Fair is not involved in the Sesquicentennial Farm Program. The requirements for the Century and Sesquicentennial Farm Programs are the same except farms must be in continuous family ownership for 150 years in the Sesquicentennial Farm Program.
Minnesota Sesquicentennial Farms will receive a certificate signed by Governor Tim Walz, Minnesota Farm Bureau Federation President Kevin Paap and Minnesota Commissioner of Agriculture Thom Peterson. Families will also receive an outdoor sign signifying Sesquicentennial Farm recognition. Below is the list of all Minnesota Sesquicentennial Farms being recognized this year that was in the Minnesota Farm Bureau news release.
