Rain required the suspension of two Minnesota Baseball Association Class B State Tournament games and three Class C games were rescheduled for Sunday.

In Class B the Miesville Mudhens Dominated the Anoka Bucs in a 12-2 eight inning game at Miesville.

Riley Ahern went the first six innings for the Mudhens scattering 4 hits with no runs scored walking 1 with 6 strikeouts.

Quinn Kruger tossed the final two innings with 2 hits, 2 unearned runs, 1 walk, 4 strikeouts and a wild pitch.

Veteran Brian Sprout, the Lake City native, former St. Olaf Hall of Fame standout and current East Ridge of Woodbury High School baseball coach added another great performance to his career.

Sprout hit a 2 run home run and RBI double to lead the Miesville attack while playing second and first base.

Joey Werner also clubbed a 3 run home run.  Austin Ladoux had 3 hits, a double, 3 RBI in the 11 hit Mudhens attack.

Line totals were Anoka with 2 runs  6 hits  2 errors
Miesville    12 runs 11 hits  4 errors

The Rochester Royals advanced to the double-elimination round with a 6-2 win over the Coon Rapids Redbirds in Miesville Saturday.

Matt Meyer threw a complete game scattering 6 hits with 2 runs allowed, 1 walk, 15 strikeouts.

The Royals scored a run in the second and third innings before adding 3 runs in the 5th and another run in the 6th inning.

The Redbirds scored both of their runs in the 6th inning and had four pitchers take the mound in their season ending loss.

Tate Meiners had 3 hits, 2 RBI including a tater and double to lead the Rochester  offense.  Bo McClintock and Drew Block also hit home runs.  Block finished the game with  2 RBI and 2 hits including a double.

Dan Lyons smacked 2 hits including a double.  Logan Milene had a pair of hits, a double and RBI.

Champlin Park leads Moorhead 8-1 after 4 innings with the winner playing Rochester 30 minutes after their game concludes in Miesville Sunday.  Action will resume at 11:00 a.m.

Blaine has a 6-4 lead over Dundas in the other Class B game.  That game is scheduled to resume at 3:00 p.m. in Miesville.  The winner will play Miesville 30 minutes after their game concludes.

The Class C games moved to 7:00 p.m. Sunday at the three fields being used for the Class B and Class C State Tournaments include Avon vs. St. Martin in Miesville, Willmar against Delano in Dundas and Waconia vs. Fergus Falls in Faribault.

  • 1:30 p.m.  Richmond Royals vs. Dumont Saints
  • 4:30 p.m. Cold Spring Rockies vs. Watertown Red Devils
  • 7:00 p.m.  Waconia Lakers vs. Fergus Falls Hurricanes

Sunday games in Dundas: All Class C

  • 11:00 a.m. Brownton Bruins vs. Isanti Redbirds
  • 1:30 p.m.  Webster Sox vs. Monticello Polecats
  • 4:30 p.m.  Loretto Larks vs. Bird Island Bullfrogs
  • 7:00 p.m.  Willmar Rails vs. Delano Athletics

Sunday Miesville games include 2 resumptions, 2 semi-finals Class B and the night Class C contest.

  • 11:00 a.m. Moorhead vs. Champlin Park resumption
  • 30 minutes after conclusion victor plays Rochester
  • 3:00 p.m. Dundas vs. Blaine resumption
  • 30 minutes after conclusion winner plays Miesville
  • 7:00 p.m. Class C game Avon Lakers vs. St. Martin Martins

Class C is single elimination all the way through.  Class B starts double-elimination when the final four teams are determined.
